Herr’s came to me with the intention of updating their business card of 40 years. The original card was designed on pale blue linen stock with red metallic foil embossing on the Herr’s logo. Three years ago the company brought in a new Director of Creative Services to start and run an in-house design department. They requested several card mockups to reflect the new department and their fresh perspective and talents.

The card mockups ranged from “he will never approve this, it’s way too out there” to “safe corporate but fun design” – these exact phrases are direct quotes from the client. After a round of 5 solid concepts, the design campaign that was chosen is what you see below. The cards use a retro coloring and reflect the “larger than life” childhood nostalgia the client felt portrayed their new tagline and marketing campaign of “Live Life With Flavor”
